The Ambition
The collaboration between Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh and world-renowned chef Daniel Boulud marked a defining moment for the city’s culinary landscape. Insignia was entrusted with developing an identity system and suite of operational materials that would embody the spirit of Café Boulud, an experience where every gesture, texture, and detail conveys French elegance.





The Approach
The collaboration between Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh and world-renowned chef Daniel Boulud marked a defining moment for the city’s culinary landscape. Insignia was entrusted with developing an identity system and suite of operational materials that would embody the spirit of Café Boulud, an experience where every gesture, texture, and detail conveys French elegance.
We analysed the restaurant’s architectural palette, bronze, leather, and linear geometry, to extract design cues that would shape the brand’s visual foundation.
- Established a set of structural design principles to ensure unity across print, digital, and environmental applications while retaining flexibility for future adaptation.
- Created a suite of graphic assets where proportion, spacing, and hierarchy conveyed the discipline and rhythm of haute cuisine.
- Directed the creation of menus, stationery, and operational materials that invite touch as much as attention, turning function into an aesthetic experience.
- Integrated communication and collateral design into one seamless system, ensuring every physical and digital element extended the ambience of the dining room.
- Positioned Café Boulud Riyadh as a study in tactile refinement, where design, service, and gastronomy move in quiet harmony.

The Outcome
Café Boulud became a tactile manifestation of contemporary French elegance within the Kingdom’s most iconic hotel. The brand identity and collaterals exuded composure, and Insignia elevated the way the restaurant’s identity was experienced, transforming menus, packaging, and guest materials into moments of quiet luxury.
